In January 2006 Analysys Research forecast that there would continue to be substantial merger and acquisition activity in the telecoms IT market over the next two to three years. This paper presents a summary of mergers and acquisitions that have taken place during 2006, then reviews the strategies of four large vendors (Amdocs, IBM, Microsoft and Oracle) and indicates likely future activity.
