The company's Extended Care business offers products for the acute and long-term care sectors that enable movement, lifting and hygiene care for people with restricted mobility. The business also supplies products to prevent and treat pressure sores and provides consulting services. The Extended Care unit claims to be the global market leader for hygiene systems and patient handling, as well as the world number four in wound care.

In its Medical Systems business, Getinge's products are organised within three divisions: Surgical Workplaces, Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care. Getinge believes its Surgical Workplaces division is the global market leader in surgical tables and lights, while its Critical Care division is claimed to be the market leader in ventilation and the Cardiopulmonary division believes it holds the number three market share for cardiopulmonary products.
