Huntleigh Technology plc, headquartered in Luton, UK, is engaged in the design, manufacture, distribution and rental of medical equipment worldwide, with representation in over 100 countries. The company has 2,540 employees. For the fiscal year ended 31st December 2005, Huntleigh generated an increase of just 0.5% in revenue over 2004, to £199.7 million, with the downturn in NHS spending in its domestic UK market having a particularly negative effect.

Huntleigh Technology's trading company is Huntleigh Healthcare, which designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of products. These include vascular and foetal hand-held Dopplers for non-invasive diagnostic assessments; intermittent pneumatic compression systems for the prevention of DVT and lymphoedema; pressure relieving support systems for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers; and patient positioning and transportation systems. In 2005, Huntleigh Healthcare launched several new products, including the Enterprise modular hospital bed, the Flowtron Hydroven IPC therapy range, the Alpha Trancell Deluxe 24-hour Care Package and the budget range Simulflex Plus foam mattress replacement, overlay and seat cushion system.

Huntleigh's product line was expanded in 2005 through the acquisitions of HME Ltd. of the UK and the cardiovascular and obstetric analysis and monitoring business of Viasys Healthcare of the US. The company also operated Huntleigh National Care, a provider of rehabilitation equipment and services, until it sold that business in 2004.
