The global market for carbon black will rise four percent per year through 2008, almost matching projected gains in world rubber consumption. The smaller non-tire rubber carbon black market will expand at a faster pace. Special blacks will grow the fastest overall. The Asia/Pacific countries, excluding Japan, will lead gains by region.

This study analyzes the world carbon black industry. It presents historical demand data for 1993, 1998 and 2003 and forecasts to 2008 and 2013 by market (tire and tire components, non-tire rubber products, special blacks); by world geographic region (e.g., North America, Western Europe, Asia/Pacific); and for 30 individual countries.

The study also considers market environment indicators, evaluates supplier market share, and profiles 21 major industry players including Cabot, Degussa, Columbian Chemicals, China Synthetic Rubber, Aditya Birla Group, Sid Richardson, and Tokai Carbon.
