According to US business decision-maker responses found in In-Stat?s December 2005 IT spending survey, IT budgets are poised to increase roughly 2% in 2006 versus 2005. Providers targeting US businesses with solutions must provide a solid business case for investment as 2% does not exactly constitute a spending spree.
This report includes IT spending data based on survey results broken down into the four US sizes of business sub-segments that In-Stat covers; SOHO (1-4 employees); small business (5-99); mid-sized business (100-999); and enterprise (1,000+).
Data focuses on IT-related goals and projects for 2006, which revolve around customer service, increasing productivity, and cutting costs. Also presented is data that focus on the implementation (or lack of implementation) of IT initiatives or projects such as VoIP, outsourcing, network security, and others. Data is also presented on how organizations utilize IT ? aggressively versus conservatively ? as well as the providers they choose to do business with.
