Harris Corporation was incorporated in Delaware in 1926 as the successor to three companies founded in the 1890s.

Harris Corporation, along with its subsidiaries, is an international communications and information technology company focused on providing assured communications products, systems, and services for government and commercial customers. The company's operating divisions serve markets for government communications, secure tactical radio, microwave, and broadcast systems.

In 1999, Harris embarked on a major restructuring of the company. Harris sold its semiconductor business and spun off its office products business refocusing all of its resources on the global communications equipment market.

Harris' common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
