Leading IT vendors have been expanding their product lines to include Smartphone products. At the same time, faced with a contraction in the volume of orders received from leading international mobile phone vendors, difficulties in developing own-branded business, and falling profit margins on ODM production, a growing number of Taiwanese mobile phone makers have been moving into the Smartphone market, which offers high profit margins and more business opportunities.
